Animal Art Redux: Potrait of the Artist as a Horse
Based upon our readership statistics, many of MadSilence’s viewers are intrigued by the stories of Tillie the dog and Congo the chimpanzee, nonhuman artistes extraordinaire. Now thanks to our readers there is more information to share.
The Museum of Non-Primate Art aims to preserve the movements, marks and sounds of non-primate species and consider them, without prejudice, as modes of aesthetic communication, in the hope of gaining new insights into our world. Museum staff have studied the artistic expressions of:
- Moles (tunneling patterns in cross section)
- Stallions (pyramidic dung piles)
- A variety of birds (flying formations as performance art)
- Domestic cats (paw paintings)
- Dogs
- Horses (beautiful dung piles), and
- Elephants (trunk drawings in dust).
