At first glance, the website for Dutch department store HEMA looks like any other retailer’s website.
But be patient, wait a few moments, and enjoy the fun.
HEMA’s actual homepage is found at http://www.hema.nl/. Apparently the other site http://producten.hema.nl/ is a marketing tool and completely nonfunctional.
And what fun! It’s creative and engaging. And an example of exceptional design, creative commercial art, engaging animation, imaginative web design, and effective marketing.

Apparently the phrase “viral marketing” also applies. Viral marketing describes any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message’s exposure and influence.
And what better venue is there for exposure than the blogosphere?

Cool! Neat! I love the “ghettoblaster” (is that really Dutch?).
